Case Background

Just after 2:30 PM on the afternoon of November 9th, 2023, E911 received a call from a residence off Kildare Ct in northern Coweta County reporting an unresponsive infant. The caller reported the infant was not breathing and units from both Coweta County Fire Rescue as well as the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office were immediately dispatched to the location in an attempt to render aid to the infant. Upon arriving the infant, later identified as Carsynn Creel, was pronounced deceased and the Coweta County Coroner was dispatched to the scene.

A death investigation was initiated by the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office. Information released from this investigation stated that the infant was at the residence in the care of it’s mother, Morgan Alyson Creel. After an investigation that stretched late into the night, Creel was arrested and booked just after midnight on November 10th, 2023. She was charged with a single count of Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree, a felony. Jail documents show that Creel bonded out of the jail just after 10 AM that day.

On February 2nd, 2024, Creel was again booked into the Coweta County Jail on the same charge. Booking information shows she was in custody for roughly 2 hours before being released again on bond. It’s believed that this booking was to modify details of the bond.

Just before Noon on October 28th, 2024, Creel was stopped by a Coweta County Sheriff’s Office patrol unit in the area of North Farms Dr and Highway 154 where she was investigated for driving under the influence. After a roadside investigation, Creel was booked into the Coweta County Jail on a charge of DUI Drugs – Less Safe. During the investigation, Creel admitted to having taken prescription medication a short time before being stopped. Jail records show that within hours of being booked, Creel was able to bond out of Jail.

On January 16th, 2025, a Coweta County Grand Jury returned a true bill indictment against Creel for two counts. The Indictment included the original charge of Cruelty to Children in the Second Degree however after hearing the evidence presented, the Grand Jury also indicted Creel on Murder in the 2nd Degree believing her actions lead to the death of her son, Carsynn Creel. On January 23rd, 2024 and arrest warrant was issued for Creel and the next day, the 24th, Creel was arrested and booked into the Coweta County Jail on both of her indicted charges. Booking records indicate that she was released on bond, which now covered both charges, within a few hours.
