Jacob Lee Vandiver Indicted for March 2024 Murder of Luke Oliveria
On May 5th Vandiver was Indicted on 6 charges resulting from the March shooting death of Luke Oliveria in the parking lot of the Newnan Hooters.

COWETA COUNTY – On May 9th a Coweta County Grand Jury returned a true bill of Indictment against Jacob Lee Vandiver, 28, for the March 4th, 2024 shooting death of 22-year-old Luke Oliveria in the parking lot of the Hooter’s Restaurant in Newnan.

Just after 12:15 AM on March 4th, 2024 Coweta County E911 received a call regarding a person who had been shot in the parking lot of Hooter’s located at 1001 Bullsboro Dr in Newnan. Units from NPD, CCSO, CFD, and CCFD responded to the scene where they found Luke Oliveria, 22 of Newnan, dead from a gunshot wound.

The alleged shooter, Jacob Lee Vandiver, 28, was also on the scene. It’s believed from radio traffic from that night that Vandiver was also the 911 caller that reported the shooting.

Vandiver was detained on the scene and the incident was investigated by the Newnan Police Department. Vandiver was booked into the Coweta County Jail later that day on the charges listed below. He has remained in custody without bond since his arrest.

There has been no public information regarding the circumstances or motive for the shooting.

The next hearing in the case is set for June 17th, 2024.
